Sandhill Elementary School
Project Description
Location: Summerville, South Carolina
Client: Dorchester School District Two
Architect: AAG Associates, LLC
Size: 120,000 SF
The Sandhill Elementary School project consisted of the construction of a new 120,000 square foot, multi-story elementary school. Built within a new community of Dorchester County, the school sits inside the neighborhoods network of parks and trails and includes a variety of outside learning areas. The elementary schools includes general classrooms, science labs, cafeteria, and a physical education space. The Media Center and front entry are framed by large storefront glass that overlooks the beautiful surroundings. The new elementary school was designed by AAG Architects on the same campus with the new Rollings Middle School of the Arts, also built by McKnight Construction. The school district strategically put the site package for the new middle school in the contract for the Sandhill Elementary School, efficiently fast tracking the construction schedule.
